What should you look for in choosing a company to handle your crane and hoist service needs? The answer is composed of several important factors.

Your first consideration must be the responsibility and integrity of the company offering the service. If there is ever a problem, who is standing behind the work and with what? Ace has a 70 year record of dependability. We are thankful to have an outstanding credit rating, be fully insured for both liability, and workman’s compensation, and have an unblemished record for performance in service and all other areas.

Your second consideration should be the competence of the technicians who will perform the service. Again, Ace meets the test. Our factory authorized technicians have the most experience, the best equipment and highest skill level. For example, our lead technicians have an average 15 years of hoist and crane service experience. When required for outside service, we provide mobile hydraulic lifts at no extra charge to insure that our workers can work more efficiently, and quickly. Compare this with the fixed hydraulic platforms supplied by most other companies. Ace also provides portable radios to all technicians to insure that they can get necessary information instantly regarding such things as emergency breakdowns and availability of parts found defective. Our heavy duty trucks are fully outfitted to meet the complexities of almost any conceivable repair problem.

Ace specializes in five distinct types of service, in house repairs, inspections, emergency service, installations, and modification projects.

By referring to “in house repairs”, we mean those repairs that are fully accomplished in our shop as opposed to those performed at the customers’ place of business. For decades, industrial companies have sent us their defective electric, manual, and lever chain hoists with the instructions “repair and return.” Several of our highly competent technicians are principally dedicated to this task. We make every effort to return your hoists swiftly, in a completely rebuilt condition, and at the lowest possible cost. We are happy to give a quote before repair but even if you do not request one, we will call if the repair does not appear to be economical. In the event you do not authorize the repair, no quote charge will be made unless you want the hoist reassembled.

Our in house service facilities contain every feature necessary to insure a complete rebuild to factory specifications. We have a complete supply of factory authorized parts. Our technicians are factory trained and have many years of “hands on” experience. We have state of the art parts cleaning equipment. Special repair and adjustment tools are stocked in every branch to insure compliance with factory specifications. A thorough load test with either a dynamic hydraulic test machine or free weights at 125% of the rated load follows each repair. A fresh paint job is the final step accomplished before your hoist is returned. The thoroughness and quality of an Ace repair prompted one customer to comment that getting a hoist rebuilt by us was like purchasing a new hoist at a fraction of the price.

Inspection Service

Ace inspection service is headed up by some of the most knowledgeable hoist and crane technicians on the face of the earth. Their dedication and competence are reflected in the quality of the inspection service performed on your equipment. To begin with, we take, for permanent recording on our computer, a full inventory of your hoisting equipment including all relevant serial and model numbers. Then with the help of our mobile portable hydraulic lifts, we conduct a thorough inspection of your equipment using a computer generated check list. While performing the inspection, we adjust items and make minor repairs where possible. If we are unable to make the repair or adjustment, we will note the defective condition on our report. Immediately after the inspection, our technician will notify your designated supervisor of any safety hazards he found.

Within several days following the inspection we will forward to your designated location, a notebook containing the completed inspection reports or if you prefer we can supply the reports to you on a disc or via email. Each report will include a summary of the important information about that equipment to enable your representative to make an informed decision regarding what further action, if any, he should take. We will be happy to set up a complete inspection and preventive maintenance program for your company. This can take the form of a yearly inspection by Ace and monthly (or other interval) by your employees. Some customers opt to have Ace do all of their inspections and preventive maintenance. We will provide whatever level of support you require.

Emergency service needs little explanation. We understand the importance of hoisting equipment to our customers and we take the responsibility for emergency service very seriously. We will do everything possible to insure that you are not in an emergency situation for any longer than is absolutely necessary.

Experience has taught us that breakdowns often recur unless the failure cause is identified and corrected. Our technicians have been trained to find the cause for the failure and then "put the problem to bed" once and for all time.
