Shortly after Ace Industries was founded in 1932, the first Budgit electric chain hoist appeared on the scene. "Budgit" was the name given to the "chain hoist" line of hoisting products by Manning Maxwell & Moore (MMM), the manufacturer of the renowned Shaw Box line of wire rope hoists. MMM was later purchased by Dresser Industries, which was later succeeded by LiftTech International.
The original Budgit pull cord roller chain hoist, developed over 60 years ago, was a workhorse and large numbers are still in use today. After many successful years the original pull cord hoist was redesigned into the current push button, aluminum alloy framed model, the design of which has been improved steadily up until the present day.

Budgit 2200 Series air hoists are precision built chain type
hoists with a choice of capacities of 1/4, 1/2 and 1 ton. Each size is available
in pull cord control and pendant throttle control models. Variations include
link type or roller type load chains, hook suspension for portability or
lug suspension for close headroom trolley hoist arrangments, and spark resistant
link chain models. The Budgit 6000 series air hoist is Budgit's heavy
duty pneumatic hoist. The 6000 Series comes in capacities of 1, 2, and 3
tons. This 6000 Series is a large frame air chain hoists featuring
continuous duty service for precise, infinitely variable speed and accurate
load spotting.
